Deputy Commissioner of Education Speaks at Mid-Hudson   Principals’ Center Summer Leadership Institute

New Johanna Duncan-PoitierYork State Senior Deputy Commissioner of Education Johanna Duncan-Poitier was the opening speaker at the recent Mid-Hudson Principals’ Center’s 20th annual Summer Leadership Institute. The veteran educator was there to explain the goals and benefits of the State’s new P-16 approach to education reform to the more than 340 participants immersed in the two-day professional development event. Co-sponsored by the Mid-Hudson Principals’ Center and the New York State Association of Women Administrators, the 2008 Summer Leadership Institute is one of many professional development opportunities provided by the Mid-Hudson Principals’ Center.

Children Celebrate Music through the Ages at the Ulster BOCES Child Care Center Open House

What is Ulster BOCES?

Ulster BOCESNick Del Pezzo means different things to different people. To Nicholas DelPezzo, Ulster BOCES means the chance to overcome obstacles, become a successful businessman, and contribute to his community by helping the less fortunate. For Nicholas, life was full of twists, turns, and unexpected challenges growing up. As a child, he recalls going to the grocery store and shopping for food using government subsidized food stamps. At school he had trouble concentrating and difficulty getting along with his classmates. Then, the Ulster BOCES  Center for Alternative Education came into his life.
